You can take an old college project and turn it into something fun and exciting. No matter what you're working on, you can make your group project great.The first thing to consider is the scope of the project. If the scope of the project is too large, your group won't feel as cohesive. With this in mind, I recommend you do a feasibility study before jumping into a project. It may seem like a lot of work, but it's important to know where you're going and who you're going with. Otherwise, you'll end up heading off in the wrong direction.After determining the scope of the project, you need to decide who you'll be working with on the project. Will it be your class, a class at another school, or maybe a local business? Of course, you can always let your spouse take the helm, but in my experience, my wife just isn't the right person for this kind of project.Next, decide how involved you want to be in the project. How much are you going to get involved? If you're a member of the class, then you should probably take the lead on it. If you're the class president, or if you're involved in the project as a volunteer, you can give advice to other members of the group and come up with new ideas for them.Depending on how involved you want to be, you'll determine what you're going to do during the project. If you want to do everything yourself, then you might be better off creating a business plan. For example, you can write up a sales and marketing plan for your group and figure out how to market the products you're selling. In order to create the sales plans, you'll need a good set of marketing books that will show you how to measure your business and other useful books.If you do decide to involve the whole class, the next step is choosing a topic for the group project. Make sure you think of a good topic so that your group can get involved in some meaningful discussion. Keep in mind that everyone will have their own views about the topic. As a result, there will probably be several different viewpoints. If you really like one viewpoint, then you can work with that view and steer the group in that direction.After you've chosen a topic for the project, it's time to pick a team. If you've invited your class to participate, then it's best to bring in the rest of the class. Just make sure you get everyone involved. Having people from other schools joining the project will add to the uniqueness of the project.Now that you've come up with some great ideas for a group project, you should be able to come up with a great project that will help you and your class to learn something new. To sum it all up, you can easily spend a lot of time coming up with great ideas for your group project and you'll find that there are more chances to practice in a real group situation than you thought possibl e.
